This January I attended the first board meeting of my life, not as a board member but for some totaly different reason. More importantly, I met two of the most impressive people I have ever met: Narayan Murthy and Rama Bijapurkar. I am not a man of so much substance and I like to believe that I do well understanding and presenting the things around me in a fashion that it sounds new and innovative. My friend Raghuveer, used to call this MBBS (Management by Bullshitting).
I think Valentine's day hence marks the correct time to start putting my views on management here.
The Game of Attraction is no more about Monogamy
David Ogilvy once said
" Customer is not a Moron, she is your wife!",
How true... But I feel that today its not just the customer, its the stakeholders who fits in the context and its hence not a game of monogamy anymore.
In today's competitive world you have too many stakeholders and wooing each one of them equally is important for the companies. Any one stakeholder if not maintained properly can bring the company down to a level never seen before. You concentrate on just one of your wife and the rest will create all the troubles in you life.
Hence it is very important for a company to be :
a. relevant and
b. attractive enough to keep the interest of the stakeholders.
This is just like the old wooing game of mushy lovers in their teens. You need to chase her, you need to keep her happy and interested, you need to give gifts and incentive, you need to do things that matter to her, you need to make her feel special.
The
Laws of attraction whether between people or organizations and people still have the same rules :
Here is the suggestive list of wives that the companies have in today's world:
Some of them are demanding, some are selfish, some wants the money, some wants a partner, some wants nothing but your love. You need to keep all your wives happy and that is the crux of the matter here.
You need to work hard to keep yourself attractive for all of them. You need to prepare for each one of them separately, treat them individualy and give them the utmost importance that they deserve from you.
The Attraction Mix that the companies need to manage
And here is a small summary of my views on these laws of attraction for the Wives that the company has. Its in a form of a small Mix where we see under each Law of attraction what do we need to do to keep each one of them happy.
I think its the most difficult thing for a men to analyze his wife unbiased, I hope this framework helps companies to analyze their partners.
As All the times, If you try and analyze anything related to wives, technology backfires on you. Could not upload the actual document here... So please click on the picture above to see it in detail.
